Ohio ist ein führender Industriestaat innerhalb der Vereinigten Staaten; seine Industrien stellen Maschinen, Werkzeuge und viele andere Produkte her. Ohio, das seinen Namen von einem irokesischen Wort mit der Bedeutung „etwas Großartiges" hat, besitzt aber auch ertragreiches Ackerland.
